NEUTER

NEUTER = Gender neutral.
Hey guys, it's been a bit! So I am all for gender equality and breaking gender barriers and roles, I thought I would discuss "Boys in make up". So socially, girls wear make up, then get told they should not wear make up cuz they are lying or being deceitful but then get told that is socially acceptable. However for boys, it is socially looked down upon and therefore almost frightened boys into not wearing make up if they want to. Boys get told that they are "gay" if they wear make up, when being gay is not a bad thing and should not be used as an insult. Over the last couple years, make up artists have been taking over social media and are getting recognition for it. James Charles has recently becomes Covergirl's first cover boy, make up artists such as Patrick Starrr, Bretman Rock and BarbieGutz (Zachary Domingo) are taking over Instagram and youtube while smashing gender roles and its flipping lit. So last Friday at school, I challenged the Cis Gender boys ( boys who identify with their given sex) to wear make up in school, and not to my surprise, hardly any did. This was probably due to the lack of social understanding and the "embarrassment" of wearing something that "girls should". Speaking to many boys I found out that they just find it "weird". Although not all the boys wore a full face round school all day, some did put on a bit of highlight and even some shadow and it got my school talking about how it really is not that deep for boys to wear make up. Below I've got some pictures of some of my favourite make up boys on Instagram and some pictures from last Friday.
